We both LOVE traveling with our families and finding new places to explore with the boys. We decided we should start sharing some of these fun destinations with you.
Our most recent family trip was to Savannah Georgia. Last time Lance and I went to Savannah was before Lucian was born. So, I wasn’t sure if there was much to do with kids. But, Lucian had a BLAST and we found some gems!
Georgia State Railroad Museum
At first, we weren’t totally sure Lucian was old enough to enjoy this museum, but we saw that since it was
Saturday, he could ride a train. So we thought it was worth a shot. Lucian loved this place. We started with the train ride then toured a few trains and even got to see a blacksmith at work. The riding tour was short and very interesting! Lance and I talked afterward and decided we definitely will be back! Lance could have stayed hours longer to check out all the equipment and history.
Savannah Children’s Museum
This museum is unlike any museum I have been to, and I have been to quite a few! The whole museum is outdoors and zero technology. Lucian loved building with the different giant block sets, he did the slide at least 100 times and he loved the train tables and bubbles too. If we lived in the area, we would without a doubt get a membership. They did a science experiment at noon, while we were there, it was water bottle rockets. They did an awesome job of holding the kids attention and including them while really teaching rocket science.
Henny Penny
This idea is GENIUS! Henny Penny is a coffee shop and bakery with excellent food and drinks. But it’s way more than that, they have art projects for kids to do while parents actually get to enjoy their coffee while it’s still hot! There were 3 projects to choose from for a small fee. Lucian painted this cardboard airplane to take home. He loved getting to paint with the pallet and brushes. Their staff member was so good with kids of all ages.
Oatland Wildlife Center
If you are looking for a more low key day in Savannah, the wildlife center is a really fun place to go for a nice walk. They have a lot of neat animals to see, Lance and I really liked the owls and wolves. Lucian preferred the farm animals. 🙂 Warning, if you go during the summer the mosquitoes are a little crazy!
Splash Pads
Savannah has a few splash pads in the squares downtown. So, of course we hit those up! I don’t want to share pictures with other kids, but you should know there was the cutest dog jumping and playing too! So this is kid and pet-friendly!!

Oh, and of course, get pizza from Vinnie VanGoGo’s!
