Traveling and exploring is some of our favorite things to do! We like to find the best places to go with the boys whether at home or traveling.
These places are in and around the Charlotte, NC area!
This is one of our favorite places to visit and Brooks LOVES it! There is so much to see and do here! Brooks loves the fire truck, the race car, the plane, the tractor and the grocery store. There is also the Discovery Place Science and Discovery Place Nature, we haven’t been to either of these with Brooks yet but they are on our list. These are great for older kids too!
We love being outside and Brooks really enjoys when we are outside too so this is a perfect place where he can see water (one of his favorite things, he loves fountains!) and their Children’s Garden the Lost Garden is so much fun! It is a great shaded area and is a great for imaginative play! Brooks loves sticks and rocks and this area is full of plenty of sticks and rocks! There is also a super cute mushroom garden for kiddos to play with too! They have rotating exhibits, in October they will be beginning a Scarecrow Hollow!
This is an awesome place to go to explore outside, for open ended play, and to see animals too! Their is a lot of space for the kiddos to run, vehicles they can drive around, swings of different kinds, a stage, and so much more!
Brooks LOVES animals, the barnyard is so much fun! You get to feed goats, sheep, and chickens. There is a miniature horse, bunnies, roosters, dogs, peacocks, and turkeys. Brooks also loves playing on Paw Paw Carl’s Playground. Their fall fun has kicked off and there is so much to explore and fun to be had! We are looking forward to seeing what all fun fall things are happening this year!
This one is north of Charlotte but worth the drive! The Earnhardt Family Playground is AMAZING! It is an all inclusive playground. The playground is open to the public Monday-Friday. You are able to see animals too- cows, tortoises, goats, and more. They also have a beginner buddy program for 1-5 year olds monthly, it is a mommy and me program and features stations with lots of themed fun and there are interactions with their animal ambassadors too! This month we were able to see and pet a snake and a rabbit!
The boys went here for the first time together while us moms were having a girls weekend. They had so much fun in the toddler area and really all over the adventure park. I think Brooks’ favorite is the ball pit and jumping in it! BJ has taken Brooks here a couple of times and we are planning another trip soon so I can go see him here too because BJ says he absolutely LOVES it!
I had to highlight this fun park because it is AMAZING! I am so excited for cooler weather and getting to this park more often! The play space here is AMAZING there is so much built into the landscaping and they make great use of the space they have available! There is also a GREAT splash pad here for the summer months! It is also across the street from the nature preserve so you can do a 2 in 1 exploration here!
