The sign on our nursery door is the sign we used for our hospital door and to announce his name, since we kept it a secret until he was born! We chose a camper because we were living in a camper while I was pregnant, and the first few months of Little Lu’s life!

Our home is a 100+ year old farmhouse, so we started with beadboard walls and the shiplap ceiling. We had planned to paint the ceiling white, but when we saw the original shiplap colors up there, we loved it and decided not to paint.
Our crib was a hand-me-down, but we were looking for a dark wood crib, so it was perfect! We love the storage underneath. As soon as we found out we were pregnant, we asked an artist we know in Florida to sketch some artwork for above the crib. We didn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl yet or a nursery theme. We asked for dinosaurs, space or robots and we got all three! I remember getting emotional when we received the sketches, knowing they would be in our new baby’s room for years!
My parents got us the growth chart and wrote the sweetest note on the back! If someone gifts you a growth chart, encourage them to write on the back. I know this is something our little one will cherish even more when he grows up!

We bought this beautiful mantle on Facebook marketplace, and it immediately became the focal point of the room! We plan to build a shelf in the fireplace so we can store more books there. We feel sure we will never want our son to have a fire in his bedroom. 🙂

Lastly, I have to share a sneak peek of his toddler bed. We will refinish it and I am sure it will end up back on the blog when we do. We found this gem at a local thrift store for just $17 and could not pass it up!!! Looks like the space theme is here to stay, and we won’t be surprised if there are still some dinosaurs sprinkled in…
